Alex Schoelcher is an international multi-disciplinary photographer currently working in Paris, France. Born in London to French and Iranian parents, Alex spent his childhood growing up in Nigeria, Syria, Holland and the United Kingdom, before moving to Melbourne where he completed a Bachelor degree in Photography at RMIT in 2014.
Influenced by his own eclectic upbringing and perennial sense of being an outsider, Alex has always been fascinated by the concepts of culture and identity. Fused with his love for international travel, photography has been just as much about self-discovery as it has been about the exploration of others.
Alex runs the World Portrait Archive, an evolving photographic collection of street portraits from around the globe, with the aim of documenting and sharing the diverse faces that populate the earth.
